My thoughts on the menu size are always the same, so Im always supprised when the groups release stuff with 200mb+ size menus. (218mb on this release)
The menu could've been shrunk (using menuShrink & keeping the audio AND the main transistional screens) to save at least 200mb - which would've left room for the animated short.

This reminds me of the Madagascar rip where the Penguin animation short was removed - pointless.

Lets face it, do we really need large menus when we are trying to achieve the highest bitrate possible?.
Its ok if the video is untouched, obviously, but not if it means sacrificing picture quality & the desired extras.

All in all, a decent rip/release, but we all know it could've been better!

A 9
M 8
Rip 7

Find yourself a copy of the scene rules and you will see why the groups leave the menu alone.

Right, they've released plenty more than that with the buttons removed!

It's precisely these menus which prevent playback on many machines. I always strip them out when sending a copy to a friend.

Thumbs up

I guess I'm the only one that had slight breaks in the audio track inbetween transitions from one vob to another. It could be my inferior DVD player (APEX).

A little too compressed (as stated before), but DEFINATELY worth the DL.

Thanks Replica for a great release.

I was already sick-to-death of the movie and switched-off before it reached the second vob!

Uh oh, someone never had their sleepy time

'Ntscuser' has a point, so why the bad attitude?
He's not lieing about the menu problems that plague a lot of releases, is he?

These forums are open to discussions regarding releases etc, not for you to flame other people for having their own oppinions.

Sorry to say, Devit, it just makes you look spitefull & foolish, especially as you cant get your point across without the foul language.

For Devit;

Effort 0
point 0
grammar 0

Perhaps a BAN will put you straight....

What menu problems? If you are referring to Garfield 2 it was mistake on the groups part. Apart from that looking at his recent posts he seems to always be complaining about menu buttons. Are unremoved buttons a problem? Well not really as anything that has been removed is a feature anyway! If the menus where causing problems then the release would be nuked.

That's correct I was harsh on ntscuser and you are right this forum is for open discussion which is exactly why I not worried that you have expressed your oppinion of me.

Check the website in my sig, look for any sKs patch maybe even the one for Garfield 2. You will find I have made quite a few ppf patches for DVDR rls and therefore have an understanding of how DVDs work

While you are at it check http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72333 to see an example of my effort in this forum.

Then check http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72395 for ntscuser. You will see a comment referring to DVD players ignoring patches. How on earth can this be true? If it was true why do groups release patches when they have made a mistake if DVD players ignore them?

This is a place to discuss releases working or not but information like that is incorrect. If you really don't understand what you are talking about then don't post your magical tips on what to do with a broken release.

If the mods wish to ban me that is down to them, I can live with that as I am happy to carry on patching my DVDs when there is a problem without ever posting help here.
