They didn't remove the extra's and stuff. The bitrate is to low. And indeed, this is from a p2p release. I see this release not as a official scene release.

A better and real scene release will appear soon I think.

Quality DL blanks (ie: Verbatim) are still relatively expensive compared to single-layer, especially if a printable surface is preferred. The cheaper DL brands aren't worth using.

yeah but we're not saying they should release dvd9 for every single movie. just these hugh blockbusters in full dvd9 every once in a while would be nice. whats a buck or two once a month or so?

btw, DL is hella cheap these days, last batch i bought (verbatim) was 8.99 for 10 after rebate

anyway like many have said this rls is crap.

If a DVD9 were released, at least a proper ripping group could have made a good DVD5 out of it. Plus the people who wanted to keep it as DVD9, could have burned a copy as well.

At this point, I'm not a HUGE fan of DVD9, but if someone doesn't know how to rip a movie, especially stuff as simple as removing the extra audio (800mb), then they should just do a full rip.

Then it woudn't be a scene release is why. Every release you read about here comes from a DVD9 source if you think about it.

The scene requires it to be a rip with menus, using cce, in a downloadable format DVD5.

the problem isnt with morphines ripping ability, it is with the fact that they have no source other than torrent sites.
this has been floating around for a few days now.... all they did was leech it, rename it and release it.

Ok, sorry, my mistake. I didn't know it was stolen from a TL release.

Given that they could've kept JUST English 5.1, you're right, they could've used that extra space for a higher bitrate.

Yep - crashes on Disney Logo

Here is how to solve it -- When logo appears press TITLE MENU on the DVD remote, this will get you to the main title screen -- Don't press play as it will crash again.

Goto SCENE SELECTION and press 1 and you can start watching the film - this works fine on all 4 of my DVD players.

watched this tonight on the tv (57")

video is fine for a dvd5 and a movie of this length, not sure what everyone is complaining about. There is a 1/2 sec frame breakup at 52m:11~ into it, but bfd.

great release for a pre-retail.

sure, if they did a cce 5 pass it might look a hair better, but the end of the day, a 2.5hr movie with a lot of action is going to have some loss going to dvd5 regardless of what you use to re-encode it. I personally stopped using cce a while ago.. the quality diff between it and dvd2one vs. the effort and time required anit worth it 95% of the time.

Video is alright but can be better and is watchable with my 1080i upconvert DVD player and 42" HDTV, if not upconvert to 1080i, the video is as other people said quite bad compare to high passes CCE stuff or original stuff but it is still better than VHS.

V: 6.5 (if upconverted)
A: 10
M: 8

Overall not a bad pre release, only downside is the skip that mentioned in previous post. As for the crash at logo, press play again if you are watching it on standalone, if WMP with computer, manually goto the chapter that contain the movie.

I think if you like the movie so much, buy the real thing when it comes out and not to complaint for free stuff.

Okay, I downloaded and burned to dvd. Watched on my 55" Sony. Here are my comments;

01) Crashes on Disney Logo, I just pressed play again and it worked fine.

02) I would have gotten rid of all the other languages but for the 5.1 English

03) It is a bit pixely throughout the movie. I am sure someone will make it better.

04) Very grateful for this group at least releasing it. The quality is better than what else is out there. (Not a big telecine fan due to the lack of common standards between films. One can be great, the other pure garbage)

05) This is a movie to buy no matter what, so I can deal with a little pixel problem now, until the retail is released to buy.

it sounds like a multi-angle issue to me? I had it with Chicken Little (the DVD-9, not the scene release). That froze on the logo on some players, but not on others. In the end I had to strip the angles and practically reconstruct the disc with IFOedit. The end result ws superb but if I'd known how much work was involved I would never have started.
