The reason why the disc takes a while to load is because the links from 'Fist Play' to the Main Menu still all exist. Disney DVDs are packed with a lot of useless trailers and logos and stuff before you get to the menu. As this content has been removed (thanks god) you're being linked from one black screen to another. On some standalones this takes a short while but is nothing to worry about. Although it'd also be possible to remove the links themselves so the disc would load faster, there'd always be some risk that the menu could fuck up at some point (esp. disney dvd menus are quite 'fragile' to manipulations as they pass along a lot of information via general system parameters). So keeping the links but removing the content is the safer option.

You don't need to remove anything. You simply use pgcedit to bypass the garbage and make it jump to the main menu. Use Trace Mode. The audio issue can also be fixed with pgcedit. All simple fixes which makes me wonder why Thp didn't spend the time to get it right the first time. I didn't check there fix, but it looks like they only addressed the audio issue.

Anyhoo, release is great minus those two annoying things.

Video: 9
Audio: 10
Movie: 8 I think it was a little more than just for kids.

Without the extras and just the movie+sound, you're left with well over 1 GB to work with. Another down side is there are no Spanish nor French Subs, guess everyone is supposed to know how to read and interpret English to enjoy this movie. Props for the release however, allot more effort could've been put into the rip, perhaps an untouched video. No one ever watches extras a second time around...in the long term they're not worth the effort.

fixing audio by hand..

All,
After burning last night I found out the disk had been incorrectly authored. While its no big issue (you can set 5.1 sound in the menu b4 playing) or flip to 2.0 stereo during playback (audio track 2), if you want to fix the problem, you can do so with the following *assuming you’ve got clonedvd*.

For anyone having audio problems, heres the solution.

You need the program 'Clone dvd' installed.

On the main page in the program you have 3 options.Choose 'clone dvd' option.

Click on browse and add your video ts folder of the film to it.

Click 'next' at the bottom.

On the left near the bottom you'll see 'audio streams'.
Untick the box with 'English Dolby AC 3/2'
Click 'next' at bottom.
Click on 'dvd files' in output method.
Click browse below to choose where to save the new dvd folder

Click 'go'.

Burn resulting dvd and the audio is now defaulted to 6 channel dolby(that works) and not dolby 2.0(which doesn't!)

Hope this helps.

Bob.
