What matters right now is that the U.S. economy is in the dumper and that does effect the rest of the world. Look what happen in the oversea financial markets when are market started it's huge down slope. So of course what happens outside of the U.S. matters. As far as the most hated country in the world that's never really changed now has it? Just look at the Middle East since the 60's and Russia during the Cold War. And of course lets not forget China, Korea or Vietnam. Really I could care a less who likes us and who hates us as long as we do the right thing. Iraq was the right thing when we first went in but due to poor intelligence (from both our country, Russia and yours) we look bad. Still the Middle East needs a democracy to help keep peace there and though I would like to see us out of there just like every other American (who the hell in their right mind would want to spend that much money or lose any American soldier?) we can't do it too soon or all our work, money and loss of life would be for nothing.

But lets me honest most of us are concerned about yourselves and our families. So of course I'm going to be focused on what Obama does here in the U.S. to our rights and economy. And if you listen to what the experts here in the states have said, this election was all about the economy. So I guess all of us here in the states don't care about what happens outside of our borders.

I unlike most of the American people actually pay attention to what is coming out of the candidates mouths. I don't totally agree with McCain and some of his policies and ideas (most but not all) but who in their right mind would agree with most of the crap Obama has been spewing? He signed those bills but they were NOT his ideas or bills to begin with. I asked what he did personally as president. What acts or bills did he create and have passed by congress? Thank god he and his co-president's national health care plan was stopped. The government can't run anything well (outside of the military) so why the hell would we want them to run our health care?

The job growth was due in part to the strong economy he had when he went into office. Why can't people understand that the economy is a HUGE beast that takes a loong time (like yourself) to move one way or the other. What Reagan did in the 80's brought us the 90's. Look at the housing market. The changes (wrong ones) that took place in the 90's (Clinton forcing congress to reduce mortgage loan requirements thereby allowing people who normally would never have been approved for their loans to get them) is what caused the housing market to implode here in 2008. I'm not totally blaming Clinton, this started as far back as the late 70's during Carter's administration, and many republicans went along with or allowed what we now know was fiscally irresponsible changes but Clinton definitely played a part in it. It just that we are seeing it now though I saw it coming 2 years ago.

Para his statement about bankrupting the coal industry is right there. Come on it's so freakin' obvious.

So he claims during his campaign that he is for clean burning coal yet his statement above shows that the caps he will place on such plants will bankrupt them. And any intelligent person can extrapolate this out to current clean burning plants which will also have to implement those caps making it unprofitable to run them and thereby bankrupt them as well. Why would anyone want this? Why with 49% of electricity coming from coal in the U.S.? We are the Saudis of the coal industry (largest coal deposits in the world right under our feet) yet he doesn't want us to us it to save the environment. And you do realize southern Ohio is a big part of the coal industry right? And that the power plants (AEP) that supply YOUR power are coal burning plants right? Electric is high enough as it is (and AEP said they will be raising our rates 15% in the next 3 years) Imagine if this plants were closed because of these caps. Were do we get our electric from then? But at lest we're doing something for the environment right?

lol, since kalvatis seems to be gone forever, Candyman, you are a good substitute. I can respect a few of your views and opposing views are always good. The obvious fact about the economy is that it has gotten out of hand, admittedly by the heads of the fed for the past 16 years. This transcends politics though, I believe.

We keep counting on the same people and power structures that got us into this, to get us out of it. IMO, the Federal Reserve needs to be gone, and although I wont convince any Republicans, other than Ron Paul'ers, JFK had started to dismantle the reserve 1 month before he was shot. He also was aware of the inherent problems with secret societies. He spoke of both these things. If Obama was the Man that JFK was, my vote would've went his way. and no McCain here either...

Okay, there are no 'secret societies' controlling things 'behind the curtain.' The problem is this, our ruling bodies (I'll use presidential as allegory for congressmen etc etc as well):

I'll agree the fed system as a whole is generally fucked but it's also proven a basis for a lot of prosperity, it's at least a shiny stick that's being shoved up our asses. I don't see the revolution happening in our lifetime though that will be changing it, better be saving those useless pieces of paper or find a life 'off the grid'.
